Kenneth Bacon is Co-founder and Managing Partner of RailField Partners. Prior to forming RailField, Ken spent 19 years at Fannie Mae, most recently as the Executive Vice President and Head of the Multifamily Business. During his tenure, Ken grew the portfolio from $56 billion to over $195 billion in assets, consisting of multifamily mortgages, conventional equity, tax credits and mezzanine debt. He also initiated the American Communities Fund at Fannie Mae. Ken was previously Director of the Office of Securitization for the Resolution Trust Corporation (RTC), and held officer positions at Morgan Stanley and Kidder Peabody.
Ken currently serves on the Board of Directors of Comcast Corporation, Ally Financial, Forest City Realty Trust, and Welltower He is active in several non-profit and trade groups, including as a Board Member of the Real Estate Executive Council (Vice Chairman), National Multifamily Housing Council, and Martha’s Table. Ken is an alumnus and former trustee of Stanford University, where he received his B.A. He also holds a M.Sc. in International Relations from the London School of Economics where he studied as a Marshall Scholar, and a M.B.A. from Harvard Business School. In recognition of his service to the Marshall Scholars program, he was awarded an Order of the British Empire (“OBE”) by the British government. Ken and his wife currently reside in Washington, DC.
Jon Siegel is Co-Founder and Chief Investment Officer of RailField Partners. Prior to forming RailField, Jon was a founding partner of J.S. Watkins Partners, an advisory firm that has advised clients on over $22 billion of multifamily transactions. Clients included a number of large financial institutions and other prominent industry players. The firm was also retained by HUD as its exclusive Loan Sale Advisor for all of its multifamily loan sales. Prior to forming J.S. Watkins Partners, he was Director of Structured Transactions in Fannie Mae’s Multifamily group with responsibility for identifying, structuring, negotiating and closing large scale transactions with many of the nation’s largest lenders and property owners. Jon also served as Director of Acquisitions at NHP Incorporated, the largest owner and manager of multifamily real estate in the nation, where he was responsible for transactions involving the purchase of real estate, partnership interests and operating companies.
He has over 20 years of experience in the multifamily industry and expertise in strategy, acquisitions, and financing. In addition, he has invested in a number of properties for his own account. Jon has an M.B.A. from Emory University and a B.A. from Tulane University. He resides in Chevy Chase, MD with his wife and two children where he has been an active youth sports coach for the past 10 years. Previously, Jon served as a board member of the Jewish Social Service Agency.
Todd is Co-founder, Chief Operating Officer and General Counsel of RailField Partners. Prior to forming RailField, Todd was a founding partner of J.S. Watkins Partners, an advisory firm that has advised clients on over $25 billion of multifamily transactions. Clients included a number of large financial institutions and other prominent industry players. The firm was also retained by HUD as its exclusive Loan Sale Advisor for all of its multifamily and healthcare loan sales. Todd previously held several positions at Fannie Mae including Director of Capital Markets in the Multifamily group where he had responsibility for developing and implementing its strategy for the purchase of seasoned loan pools from large financial institutions and as Associate General Counsel. Prior to Fannie Mae, Todd was Vice President and Senior Counsel at Merrill Lynch and a corporate attorney with O’Melveny & Myers, L.L.P.
He has over 20 years of experience in the multifamily industry and expertise in real estate law, compliance and deal structuring. He holds a J.D. from the University of Michigan Law School and an A.B. from Harvard College. He resides in Washington, DC with his wife and two children. Todd is currently the chairman of the board of CISV USA, the American affiliate of the international peace education group, Children’s International Summer Villages.
Danny is a Senior Associate with RailField and is primarily responsible for managing the acquisitions process from end to end. He also supports the asset management function, working closely with on-site property managers. Prior to joining RailField, Danny worked for Colliers International with their Investment Sales team in DC. He also worked for Deloitte Consulting for five years in their Strategy and Operations group. He advised various clients with global operations in supply chain and financial management and contributed to cost savings of hundreds of millions of dollars for his clients.
Danny has an M.B.A. from Georgetown’s McDonough School of Business, where he was a McDonough Scholar and active member of the Steers Center for Global Real Estate. He also received his Bachelors degree in Finance from Georgetown, where he co-captained the men’s golf team. He lives in Fairfax, VA with his wife.
